The government has claimed that the defendants’ scheme defrauded victims of more than $4.5 million. Each of the defendants was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, which carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
