Terms of Use
Effective 12 August 2026
These terms govern your use of this website. By using it, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Three of them matter more than the others, and they are the first three: this is advertising, it is not advice, and reading it does not make us your lawyers.
Attorney advertising
This website is attorney advertising under the New York Rules of Professional Conduct. Shalit Group is the trade name of Leo Shalit, PC, a New York professional corporation with its office at 45 Glen Cove Road, Greenvale, New York 11548.
This is not legal advice
The material on this website is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Every factual situation is unique and requires individual analysis.
You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything published here. Reading this site is not a substitute for speaking to an attorney about your own circumstances, and no page here has been written with your matter in mind.
No attorney–client relationship
Viewing this website, or sending a communication through it, does not create an attorney–client relationship. That relationship arises only when a written agreement for legal services has been executed between you and the firm.
Until it does, information you send is not privileged, and sending it may not prevent the firm from representing a party whose interests are adverse to yours. Please do not send confidential material through this site; the privacy policy sets out the reasoning and the alternative.
Case results
The outcomes published on this site are actual results obtained by the firm. They are published without detail that would identify a client, and matters that are still open are not published as results at all — an open matter is not an outcome.
Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any other matter. Every case turns on its own facts, its forum, and the law that applies to it. Nothing in the results section is a promise about what would happen in yours.
Payments
Payments made through this site are processed by Stripe and may be for any amount between $1 and $100,000. By submitting a payment you authorize Leo Shalit, PC to charge the amount you entered to your payment method. Retainers and advances are held and applied in accordance with your engagement agreement.
Making a payment does not by itself create an attorney–client relationship or oblige the firm to accept a matter.
If you pay in error, or believe an amount is wrong, contact the office at 833.742.5481 or info@shalit-law.com. Corrections and refunds are handled directly by the firm — there is no mechanism on this website to reverse a payment.
Permitted use
You are welcome to read this site, and to quote or link to it fairly. Beyond that, you may not:
- Bulk collection
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically download the contents of this site, including the published case results.
- Unsolicited contact
- Use any address or number published here to send unsolicited commercial communications to the firm or its attorneys.
- Interference
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its supporting systems, or interfere with its operation or availability.
- Misrepresentation
- Frame, mirror, or present this site so as to misrepresent its source, or use the firm's name or marks to imply an endorsement or a relationship that does not exist.
Ownership
The text, photography, design, and the Shalit Group name and lockup are the property of the firm or its licensors, and may not be reproduced or reused without permission. Trade marks belonging to other companies and appearing on this site remain the property of their owners.
Outside services and links
This site relies on services provided by other companies, and links to destinations we do not control — among them Stripe, Google, and Elfsight. The firm is not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any of them, and your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
Availability
This site is provided as it stands and as it is available. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its contents are complete or current at any given moment. Pages may be updated, corrected, or removed without notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leo Shalit, PC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this website or your reliance on anything published here.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. In particular, and for the avoidance of any doubt, nothing here limits or affects the professional obligations the firm owes to its actual clients — those are governed by the engagement agreement and by the rules that bind New York attorneys, and no website notice overrides them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to this website is to be brought in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York.
If part of this is unenforceable
If any provision of these terms is held to be unenforceable, that provision is to be applied as far as it lawfully can be, and the remainder of the terms continue in force.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The effective date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised version.
